Wonder Valley Software respects your privacy. CloudySky2 does not require you to create an account, does not contain advertising, and does not sell your personal information.
CloudySky2 uses limited analytics and diagnostic information to help us understand how the app is used, improve its features, and identify technical problems.
Analytics and Diagnostic Information
CloudySky2 uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics).
Firebase Analytics automatically collects certain information about use of the app and the device on which it is running. This may include:
- App interactions and usage events
- App sessions and session duration
- App version
- Device model and operating-system information
- An identifier associated with an installation of the app
- General geographic information, such as country or region, derived by the analytics service
- Certain diagnostic and technical information
CloudySky2 also sends limited events to Firebase Analytics that describe how features of the app are being used. For example, these events may indicate which sections of CloudySky2 are viewed, cloud genera or subtypes viewed, use of the elevation scale, and actions within the cloud-photography and Cloud Log workflow.
CloudySky2 may also record diagnostic events when features such as the camera, location services, or locally displayed web content encounter an error or require recovery.
CloudySky2 does not include your cloud photographs, observation notes, precise geographic coordinates, saved place names, email addresses, or the contents of messages in the analytics events that it sends to Firebase Analytics.
Analytics and diagnostic information is used by Wonder Valley Software to understand use of CloudySky2, improve the app, and diagnose technical problems.
Advertising and Tracking
CloudySky2 does not contain advertising.
Wonder Valley Software does not use Firebase Analytics to serve targeted advertising in CloudySky2 and does not use the analytics information collected by CloudySky2 for cross-app or cross-website advertising tracking.
Google Signals is not enabled for CloudySky2, CloudySky2 does not provide Firebase Analytics with a Wonder Valley Software user ID, and the CloudySky2 Analytics property is not linked to a Google Ads account.
Wonder Valley Software does not sell CloudySky2 analytics information.
Data Stored on Your Device
CloudySky2 stores information locally on your device to provide the app’s features. This may include:
- Cloud Log entries
- Cloud photographs
- Observation notes you enter
- Location and other metadata associated with an observation
- App settings and preferences
This Cloud Log content remains on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
CloudySky2 does not upload your Cloud Log photographs or observation notes to Wonder Valley Software or include them in Firebase Analytics.
Camera and Photos
If you choose to photograph a cloud, CloudySky2 uses the device’s camera with your permission.
If you choose to save a photograph to your Photos library, CloudySky2 accesses Photos for that purpose with your permission.
CloudySky2 does not upload your photographs to Wonder Valley Software or Firebase Analytics.
Location
If you grant location permission, CloudySky2 can use your device’s location to record the location of a cloud observation and provide related location information in the Cloud Log.
The precise geographic coordinates and saved place names associated with your Cloud Log observations are not sent to Firebase Analytics.
Firebase Analytics may independently derive general geographic information, such as country or region, as part of its standard analytics processing. This is separate from the precise location information CloudySky2 obtains through Apple’s location services for a Cloud Log observation.
Sharing
CloudySky2 allows you to share content using services available through iOS, such as Mail, Messages, AirDrop, and other applications that support the iOS sharing system.
Sharing occurs only when you choose to initiate it. Information you choose to share is then handled by the service or application you select, subject to that service’s own privacy practices.
Third-Party Services
CloudySky2 uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google, for app analytics and diagnostic purposes.
Information processed by Firebase Analytics is subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy and data-handling practices.
CloudySky2 does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
Children’s Privacy
CloudySky2 does not require an account and does not ask users to provide their name, email address, or other account information.
CloudySky2 does use Firebase Analytics as described in this policy. Wonder Valley Software does not knowingly use CloudySky2 to collect personal information from children for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Security and Control
Cloud Log photographs, notes, and observation information are maintained locally by the app unless you choose to export or share them.
You can control CloudySky2’s access to features such as the camera, Photos, and location services through the privacy settings provided by iOS.
Deleting CloudySky2 from your device removes information maintained solely within the app’s local storage, subject to normal iOS behavior and any copies you have separately saved or shared.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when CloudySky2’s features, third-party services, or privacy practices change.
Any updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised Last updated date.
